The “Momover” … Dressed For Spring

April 15, 2010

Once again, I have eaten my words.  Los Angeles received a good rain on Monday, after I declared (with certainty) that we wouldn’t see any more until October.  But, the skies are blue today, and the SoCal forecast is filled with sunshine.  Spring is finally here, and I’d love to honor it with a nice suntan and a flowing, feminine dress- something that could be dressed up or down.  These will both be hard to obtain while chasing  a toddler around, but a gal can have her dreams…

Henley Dress

Super casual, yet sophisticated.  I want to wear this dress and feel comfortably pretty.

Silk Floral Dress

Super feminine, without looking like a little girl.  I think the front detail would also do a great job of concealing a mommy tummy or too many enchiladas.

Knit Maxi Dress

This inexpensive dress could be one of those most-worn pieces- super versatile, and comfortable, too!

Belted Dress

This dress comes with a self belt but would look great using a “real” belt, as shown.

Racerback Dress

Casual, yet sexy.  This would look great layered over a cute bra or cami.

Silk Tie-Waist Dress

I am usually not an Anthropologie fan ( I was there returning something that was sooo lame), but this one just screamed my name.

Knit Pleated Dress

While some AA clothes aren’t good for much more than using as a cleaning rag, there is always that piece… the one that was so worth the $39, and when it starts wearing thin, you just buy another one.  This dress just might be that piece.

I think wearing a cami-type bra with skinny straps, or a slim fitting, layering tank underneath would work- something that compliments the lines of the dress. For a racerback dress, a bandeau bra in black or a fun color would also work, like this one from Gap Body: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=34528&vid=1&pid=608943&scid=608943052

OMG- of course you bought it! When I saw it, I loved it, but I also immediately thought of you. And no, I didn’t even try it on 🙂
