Dear Stuart Weitzman,

July 21, 2010

I want you to know how much I love your Oval.  It’s so simple, elegant, and versatile.  I have it in lead and have been wearing it for almost three years.  In fact, I love it so much, that I want another pair in gold.  It would be the perfect sandal for my Sister Number 1’s wedding, in which I will be wearing a long dress and will need to wear flat shoes as I can hardly tolerate heels and nobody will see the heel anyway.

The perfect sandal.

Which brings me to the point of this letter, my state of panic disappointment that the gold Oval is unavailable in my size across the entire shopping universe, including high-end department stores and on-line merchants.  I am confused by this, since this popular model, or a variation of it, has been around for years.  And we are not even half-way through summer.

Yes, I do wear the most common shoe size, a seven point five, but it seems as though you would account for this my making more in this size and fewer, in say, a size midget four which, although available, could not possibly encase my long, flat foot.

Oh, I have tried other gold sandals, but they just won’t do.  They lack the lightly cushioned foot bed, the casual elegance, the supple leather that never necessitates band-aids.

So please, Mr. Weitzman, could you find it in your heart to take a second look at your inventory, and just maybe, maybe there would be a gold Oval box with my name on it.  Lest I be stuck wearing these to Sister Number 1’s elegant wedding:

At least this one would also work for my "dancing" gig.

Sincerely,

Carrie

P.S.  I have less than three weeks to find a shoe for this wedding.

my toes are in an oval for you. this letter should cause stuart to make a personal visit to you, size you himself, and create “the sweetest” a one-of-a-kind perfect shoe with supple leather and no heal.
