It’s Friday. Let’s Rock.
As I kiss Hayden goodbye, I can feel this morning’s coffee in my bladder. I go through a mental checklist of all the things I need to get done in the next three hours. As I turn the corner, my car escapes the shade of giant oaks and I can feel the warmth of the morning sun. Feel the blueness of the sky.
I tune back into what’s coming from my iPod. Desaparecidos.
Oh, Conner Oberst, what a sexy young thing you are.
Modest Mouse. Rolling Stones. Such sexy, sexy music. I turn it up. LOUD. I open up the sunroof and drum on the dash. For a moment, I am taken back to the days of late nights and loud parties, but these songs are timeless, and I find myself in that giddy place as I am overtaken by air guitar.
It feels so good to reconnect with this side of me. So good, that for a moment, I forget that I am a SAHM with a Halloween costume to finish.
