Teeny Tiny Fungi

I have no idea what these are.  I mean, yeah, I know they are mushrooms, but I don’t know what kind.  They are just some funny little mushrooms that came in my CSA [1] box this week.  With their tiny caps and long, skinny stalks, they are unlike anything I could buy at the grocery store.

I sauteed these babies in some olive oil and butter with some thinly sliced red onion, garlic, and sliced crimini mushrooms that I already had in the fridge.  When they were just done, I tossed in a tablespoon of red wine, let it reduce, added a light sprinkling of salt, and poured the mushrooms over some little steaks I cooked on the stove top.  But you don’t have to have teeny tiny fungi- just use whatever mushrooms are available to you.
