Operation Glory

August 15, 2011

I know you are all tired of hearing about BlogHer11, and I have already written my recap post, so I won’t make you read another 750 words about how got to stay in a decent hotel all by myself and met awesome bloggers and drank too much and slept too little and learned a teeny bit about blogging.

But in my original post I left out a very important piece of my four days at BlogHer.  Mostly because I didn’t think anyone would believe me- at least, not without proof.

I was in a flashmob!

You may have seen tweets tagged #operationglory which was our secret code for the dancing that was to go down at BlogHer.

Were we all a little off?

Yes.

Was it to a Lady Gaga song?

Yes.

But that’s okay because I still had a ball doing it, and if you dance through that song enough times you actually start to like it.

Most of the videos were taken from the front, leaving out all of the important “in the back” dancers like me, but I finally found one that shows me.  If you refrain from blinking through the entire clip, you can see me in the back right-hand corner.  I am wearing a long navy and white striped top and jeans.  On the edge of glory, baby.

As soon as this was over I went out to the pool to meet Jules. It was like, “I did my dance. Screw the seminars.”

Im so glad to have shared the #OperationGlory experience with you, and that you found a video with you in it!! 🙂 I was front and center for the first part, and dove in the middle because I didn’t want to be so visible 🙂 I’m in the brown capris and magenta top with curly brown hair, and you can see glimpses of me in your video when Id moved to the middle. It was so much fun, and so worth it to participate!

I see you! Love it. Did Hayden watch it? What was his response?

I remember watching a youtube vid a few years back of a flash mob…at a Kroger…in The Heights…in the dairy aisle. Surreal. Although I haven’t seen (or danced) one in person, you are the second of my friends to survive a first hand experience. Way to go Carrie!

I loved this flashmob! I actually watched from the back side of it… so I’m sure I stared at your ass quite a bit as you shook it!
    Totally made me smile.

Depending on the shot, I am in a little different position, usually in the upper-right quarter of the screen.
