Maybe We’re Stuck With Camel Toes After All

April 2, 2012

When I try on a pair of skinny jeans, I expect them to give me a camel toe. Not because that’s the look I’m after, but because nine times out of ten skinny jeans on a non-model equal encased sausage.

Finding a pair of jeans that works is golden. My son, who is of normal height and weight, cannot wear “regular” jeans because he looks like a boy dressed up in his daddy’s clothes (too bad women’s clothes aren’t made the same way).

Which is why for four years I have been loyal to Gap Kids skinny jeans for my son. Loyal until now, because when he tries on a pair of skinny jeans I expect them to be NOT BAGGY.

I have always bought him Gap skinny jeans for boys, simply because their jeans run the least big. But at 4 1/2 years old he was still in a size 3 with the waist cinched up, and his crotch was begging for the next size up. When I ordered the size 4, I didn’t know that we’d be taking it to the next level. Literally.
