My Latest Loves
I love shopping.
I actually do not like shopping, I just like buying stuff. I like new stuff that looks cool.
And I like new clothes and new food and new books and new plants.
I cannot always buy new things, so I do a lot of window shopping, mostly online and through the numerous home furnishings catalogs that arrive in my mailbox each week (Fortunately Chiasso has not found me at my new address yet! Can we say “office furniture”?).
One thing I don’t do is Pinterest.
I tried real hard, I swear. Because I know that everybody who is anybody is on Pinterest. So I made some boards and came up with some stuff to “pin.” But Honestly? I don’t see the point. It’s just posting a bunch of pictures of shit people can find on their own. Shit from other websites and catalogs and cooking magazines. According to the Interwebs, being on Pinterest will bring people to my blog in droves, but I just don’t see the connection.
I figure if people want to know what I am into they can just ask me. Or read about it here. So tonight, I present to you my latest loves.
Yeah, I know I talked about it already, but this is serious. Egg salad. Lots of cracked black pepper.
Peanut Butter Sandwiches
This is not a new love. In fact, after my husband and son, peanut butter sandwiches might be the love of my life. It’s a love that will never die. If I don’t eat a peanut butter sandwich for lunch again tomorrow maybe I will make some egg salad.
Trader Joe’s Pita Bite Crackers
This might be the perfect cracker. If I was a snacker I’d go through a box a week, easy. But I am not a snacker, so I eat them when I am desperate for dinner but it’s not ready yet. Try them with pepper jack cheese. Or peanut butter. Or egg salad.
I gave up on J Crew a long time ago. I am a short, short-waisted woman, and J Crew clothes don’t fit me at all. Plus, the last time I went in that store it looked like Ralph Lauren took over a candy factory, all bright solid colors and stripes. But I am obsessed with Madewell, J Crew’s sister company. For some reason, their clothes fit me. And I dig their jewelry. I just can’t go into the store because the girls working there remind me that I am old enough to be their mother.
Thompson Skinny Jeans
Finally, a skinny jean that actually covers my underwear. Without giving me encased-sausage thighs! I have two pairs of these jeans by Citizens of Humanity, and I am debating a third pair. What if something happens to the ones I have and the cut is discontinued? This happened to me with a pair of Citizens boot cut jeans, and now I have to wear jeans with holes in the knees and crotch.
MD Forte Skin Rejuvenation Lotion
I have used MD Forte for years and swear by it (my skin loves glycolic acid). A couple of weeks ago I added this lotion with retinol, and my face is looking good. Sunspots and lines are already minimized, and I look moisturized.
I have not been a huge West Elm fan in the past, but right now they have so much stuff I love. I want to live inside West Elm. I just wish their photographs were more accurate- the color is often off, like with the Mia Table Lamp. I’d order this in a heartbeat, but for the life of me I can’t tell if it’s red, orange, or mauve.
Game of Thrones
I am obsessed with this book and am off to bed so I can read it on my Kindle. Good night!
