Very Little Effort Will Hopefully Yield Something Good.

January 14, 2013

It’s thirty-five degrees and windy.

I am wearing gloves with tissues tucked into the cuffs.

Wintertime makes me want to eat warm stuff.  Food with lots of flavor- spicy, zesty, or earthy.  Last night I tried to make some Indian food.  I think I tried once before but put the results out of memory, and now, I remember why.

Baby food, anyone?

Tonight we are sticking with meat.  But after last night’s poo poo dinner I didn’t feel like putting in much effort.

C R O C K P O T.

And none of this first roast in oven for twenty minutes then transfer to stovetop and saute for ten minutes then transfer to crockpot and cook for seven hours.  The crockpot is supposed to involve no real cooking.

Tonight we are having (I hope) pulled pork sammies.  Other than cleaning the dust from the crockpot, chopping onions and preparing a rub, everything is happening in the crockpot, right now, so that come four o’clock when H tells me he’s hungry dinner will be almost ready.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Ps. I was dismayed (but not surprised) to find that Whole Foods only sells Step 1 pork roast, which is only like 1 step above pink slime.  I bought it anyway.
